Privacy Policy for First State Bank


First State Bank, Hordville, Nebraska takes pride in the bond and long-standing trust we have developed with our customers over the years.  Maintaining trust is an important part of our day-to-day operations.  In order to ensure the confidential treatment of customer information and customer records.  We have adopted this policy and procedures for releasing such information to third parties.

To ensure the continued privacy and confidentiality of customer information that our customers have relied on through the years, we will continue to:

  1. Collect, retain and use customer information only as allowed by law and only if it would be useful in an administrative or service-oriented capacity.

  2. Limit employee access to customer information as is reasonable to job performance.  Employees will continue to be educated as to the need and         importance of customer privacy and confidentiality.

  3. Maintain appropriate security standards and procedures to prevent unauthorized access to customer information.

  4. Restrict the disclosure of customer account information in unauthorized third parties unless:
    a) The customer requests it.

    b) The disclosure of information is required by law or allowed by law. (reports to credit bureaus, IRS reporting, responses to subpoenas,                                 search warrants, summons.

    c) The information is proved to help complete a customer-initiated transaction.

  5. When it is necessary to release authorized information to a third party (normal processing, fraud, risk control, etc.) we will insist the third party adhere to similar privacy principles.

  6. First State Bank, Hordville, Nebraska will not share personally identifying information with third parties for the purpose of solicitation or provide personal information to a third party for its own use.

  7. First State Bank, Hordville, Nebraska may disclose information regarding the creditworthiness of a customer to a financial institution, commercial        enterprise or credit-reporting agency when such disclosure is part of a exchange in the regular course of business.  Generally, we will only disclose such information directly to a credit-reporting agency unless authorized in writing to do otherwise by the customer.

  8. Loan payoff quotes and real estate listing information may be given to any third party acting in the interest of or on behalf of the customer.

  9. Information may be disclosed to any other third party or Government Agency as permitted under FDIC regulation or other applicable laws or regulations.

  10. First State Bank, Hordville, Nebraska will make every effort to assure customer information is accurate, current, and complete by responding in a timely manner to account holder request for correction or deletion of inaccurate or outdated information.  You can review the information which we maintain with respect to your account, correct any inaccurate or outdated information by calling or sending a signed written request to the address set forth at the bottom of the disclosure that is provided.
